EKSG Engages Ikere Communities Chairmen To Promote Community Development


As part of efforts to strengthen the bond between the State Government and people at the grassroots, the train of Bureau of Community Communications moved to Ikere Ekiti today Thursday, to engage Ikere Landlords Association Chairmen on government programs.


Addressing the Chairmen at the Ikere Town Hall, Director - General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso - Omotoso said that constant engagement with community Landlord Associations was part of Governor Oyebanji’s campaign promise fulfillment ,noting that Governor Oyebanji has shown himself to be a true servant-leader by giving the people, decision-making authority in his government.


Mrs Omotosho who expounded on numerous achievements of Governor Oyebanji in Ikere Ekiti within the short time he assumed office, appreciated the Ogoga of Ikere, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado, Chairmen of Ikere LGA and Ikere West LCDA for their support for the  engagement despite the short notice.


Speaking at the event, the Ogoga of Ikere, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado represented by two of his prominent Chiefs, appreciated Governor Oyebanji’s passion for grassroots development and promotion of shared prosperity, stressing the need for the Landlord Association chairmen to work together with the palace in ensuring security in their various communities.


Also speaking at the event, Chairman, Ekiti State Internal Revenue Services(EKIRS), Mr Olaniran Olatona sensitized  the communities on the importance of paying for Land Use Charge which according to him is to assist government bring more social amenities closer to the grassroots. 


Olatona assured the landlord association chairmen  of not over billing them as the rates for Land Use Charge would be very affordable and pocket - friendly.


Earlier in their remarks, the Chairmen Ikere Local Government and Ikere West Local Development Area (LCDA) represented by their Vice Chairmen, Hon Chief Tope Ijasan and Hon Daramola Ajayi respectively, appreciated Governor Oyebanji for creating the Office Community Communications to bridge communication gap  between the  Government and the grassroots, and as well lauded Mrs Omotoso for her zeal in  promoting the activities of Ekiti State Government.


At the end of the meeting, maize palliatives were distributed to the Chairmen to share amongst livestock farmers in their various communities.

Bamayi Moshood, SSA Faith Based Organization (Muslim), Alhaja Sherifat Ogunsakin, SA Community Relations, Hon Roland Adegite, SA Governor’s Office, Hon Adetuase, SA Community Affairs(North), Hon. Sola Ogundare, SA New Media, Hon. Yewande Aribasoye, Secretaries of both Ikere LGA and Ikere West LCDA as well as the HLAs.
