REBUTTAL: EKITI SOUTH WEST LEGISLATIVE LEADER NOT ASSAULTED BY CHAIRMAN

REBUTTAL: EKITI SOUTH WEST LEGISLATIVE LEADER WAS NOT ASSAULTED BY THE CHAIRMAN, THE LEGISLATIVE LEADER, INSTEAD, ASSAULTED THE CHAIRMAN

The attention of Ekiti South West Chairman, Hon. Richard Apolola, has been drawn to a false publication by the leader of the Ekiti South West legislative arm, Hon. Gbenga Akomolede, where allegations of physical assault was levied against the Council Chairman.

Ekiti South West Local Government, Hon. Apolola Richard was alleged to have assaulted the Councilor representing Ward 2 and the suspended Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Gbenga Akomolede.

Ordinarily, we wouldn't have dignified such puerile and watery statement with a response but for the unsuspecting public who might mistake our silence on the said publication as an affirmation of the lies and innuendos in the statement.

The allegation is mischievous as well as a calculated ploy to impugn on the integrity and rising political profile of Hon. Richard Apolola. It is laughable that Hon. Gbenga Akomolede is flagrantly carried out physical assault and attack on the Chairman while innocently intervening in a crises that appeared noisy to the atmosphere of the Council Secretariat. The Chairman in his usual attitude of resolving any crises among his legislators, immediately invited all the eleven members to the office of the Secretary to broker peace but to the surprise of everyone present, the leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Gbenga Akomolede stood up in anger and attacked the Chairman by pushing his head in the full glare of his colleague and immediately stormed out.

The unruly behavior of Hon. Gbenga Akomolede was described by his colleague as barbaric. He was afterward suspended by Nine of his colleagues at the reconvened sitting for two month for series of his shameful act and a letter of apology in writing, duly signed by Nine out of the Eleven legislators was communicated to the Chairman to appease him.

The suspended Hon. Gbenga Akomolede having realised his colleagues frowned at his unruly behavior, went to a Private Hospital in Ilawe with his parent to lure the Doctor of the said Hospital to dress his head with Plaster and Bondage that will look like that of a person who survived injuries from attack just to twist the case of attack he perpetrated on the innocent Chairman to deceive the public.

Hon. Apolola Richard is a democrat who believes in the sanctity of democracy, respect for rules of law and the independence of other arms of government.

Mr. Gbenga Akomolede's ordeal is between his Councillor colleagues who  found him unfit for the assignment. He has been suspended by 9 (nine) out of 11 (Eleven) members after series of allegations ranging from highhardedness, impunity,  disrepute to the hallow chamber amongst others levied against him.

The resolution of the sitting where he was suspended was only brought to the notice of the Council Boss, who never interfered or meddled in the business of the legislature.

The general public should be aware that the marauders who are changing the narratives and spreading same are only scared of the unprecedented achievements of the Chairman since he took over the mantle of leadership and should ignore the publication in its entirety.

The suspended leader should tow the path of honor by finding truce between his colleagues and stop unnecessary public show of shame.

The Chairman, Hon. Richard Apolola is daily delivering on his promises to turn around the fortune of Ekiti South West Local Government with the Shared Prosperity mantra of Governor Biodun Oyebanji

Signed:

Office of the Chairman
