The Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, Rt Hon Taiwo Olatunbosun has urged Information Officers in the ministry to acquaint themselves with the six-pillar agenda of the Governor Biodun Oyebanji-led administration.

Olatunbosun who gave the charge in Ado Ekiti during an interface with the officers said the accurate understanding of the six-pillar agenda would prevent the Information Officers from writing out of context.

The Commissioner added that as image-makers of the government, Information Officers must be up and doing and ensure that adequate publicity is provided for the programmes and policies of government.

He disclosed that he had met the General Managers of media stations in the State with a view to building a robust relationship with the ministry, as partners in progress.

This, he said, would make the media coverage of activities of the state government seamless.

The Officers had earlier tabled the challenges facing the Ministry before the Commissioner who in turn assured of the readiness of the Oyebanji-led government to surmount them.

While speaking on productivity, the Commissioner promised to provide a conducive environment that would enable the officers to put in their best for the government, noting that provision of work tools and training of officers are in the pipeline for the Ministry.

Olatunbosun who assured that the welfare of the officers would be given priority attention promised an open-door policy that would provide inclusiveness for officers in all the departments within the ministry.

He however warned that he would not take excuse from any officers for failure to discharge their duties.

It is recalled that Olatunbosun’s recent appointment is his second stint as Commissioner for Information having served in the same capacity between 2009 and 2010.
