The Conduct of examination into the teaching service of Ekiti State over the weekend by the Teaching Service Commission, has been described as a great success, conducted in free, fair and peaceful atmosphere.
The Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Mr Michael Omolayo, made this known at Ekiti State University Ado-Ekiti Centre, during the qualifying examination for the Recruitment Exercise of teaching staff into the public secondary schools in Ekiti State.
Mr Omolayo explained that the result of the examination with the impressive turn out of over twelve thousand applicants would be released soon, adding that visually impaired and physically challenged persons participated in the exercise as well.
According to the PS, the commission was poised to engaging the best hands for the job among the teeming unemployed graduates, noting that the competency test would be followed by two other stages of Oral Interview and Micro teaching for successful candidates for the purpose of promoting merits and ability over mediocrity.
Omolayo, who described the recruitment processes as unique, systematic and innovative. he emphasized, that teachers who were prepared to offer their best for the development of education in Ekiti State would be engaged from various subjects in Sciences, Commercial/Vocational, Arts and Social Sciences at the conclusion of the recruitment processes.
While addressing the candidates before the commencement of the examination, the Permanent Secretary, enjoined them to conduct themselves with decorum and ensure honesty of purpose and shun all forms of malpractices.
He also expressed appreciation to the Governor of the State for granting an approval for the appointment of 500 additional teachers to fill the consequential vacancies in the state Public Secondary Schools.
In her response, one of the Candidates, Mrs Bisola David appreciated the Governor for the opportunity and as well commend the organizers for the proper conduct of the examination.
