MULTIPLE BIRTHS: Ekiti First Lady visits families of triplets, donates gift items

The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji has offered succour to three families who were recently blessed with triplets in the state. 

In her usual benevolence act, Dr. Oyebanji, on Wednesday visited and presented various items, including baby materials, beverages, foods and cash to the three families that recently have multiple births in different areas of the state.

The First Lady who was represented by her Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilization, Mrs Toyin Adepoju visited the residences of the benefiting families at Ilawe in Ekiti South West Local Government, Awo in Irepodun Ifelodun and Falana area of Ado-Ekiti to present the items.

Dr Oyebanji noted that the gesture would not be enough to cater for the babies' up keep but became necessary to lessen the financial burden the development might have brought on the families.

At Adin Quarters residence of Mr Olasoji Jimoh, a motor Mechanic, in Ilawe Ekiti, the Governor's wife congratulated the couple on the safe delivery, advising them to train the children in the way of the Lord and prayed to God to bless the family with the resources required to take care of the babies.

Similarly, at the home of Mr. George and Mrs. Serah Peter in Awo Ekiti, who were also blessed with triplets, the Governor's wife said the visit was to identify with the families by rendering the needed assistance to them. 

It was a similar experience at the Ado Ekiti home of Mr. Afolabi and Mrs. Ajimola Olaoluwa, Dr. Oyebanji urged the families to key into the Multiple Birth Trust Fund of the State Government.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Sola Adeluyi who was represented by Mrs Hellen Akomolafe also congratulated the families and urged pregnant women to always utilize the good health care provided by the Biodun Oyebanji led administration in various public health facilities.

Also wife of Ekiti South West Local Government, Mrs Anike Apolola and her counterpart from Ado Central Local Council Development Area, Mrs Mary Toyin-Ojo appreciated the Governor's wife for the gesture and urged other residents with such beautiful gifts to always inform the government.

In their separate responses, the mothers of the triplets thanked the governor’s wife for reaching out to them and promised to prioritize the welfare of the newborns.
