Fire engulfs Awedele Market

Awedele neighborhood market around Basiri area of Ado Ekiti has been gutted by fire.

Roofing logs and sheets of some shops yet to be occupied by the owners behind the market were burnt down by the fire.

Shop owners and good Samaritans as well as fire fighters helped to quench the fire.

Residents around the area called on the owners of the shops to put it into use, adding that the area has been turned to India hemp smokers hide out.

They suspected the source of the fire to be connected to those smoking cigarettes and other stuff in the unoccupied shops.
