Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has commiserated with the Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, on the death of his wife, Nomthi, who passed on Tuesday.
The Governor in a condolence message in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday described the death of Nomthi Odukoya as very shocking and heartrending.
Dr Fayemi said though the late Pastor Nomthi died in her prime, she made remarkable impact on the lives of the people, through her non-profit organization, Funda Wazi which was set up to provide child-friendly resources and trainings for children and adults on children’s welfare.
According to the Governor, the deceased’s commitment to people’s welfare led to the establishment of Fountain Initiative for Social Development which she chaired until her death.
Dr. Fayemi said the late Nomthi Odukoya would be sorely missed for her remarkable contributions to the society, especially for being a pillar of support for her husband and his Ministry .
Governor Fayemi said: “The late Nomthi Odukoya raised and nurtured an army of young Christian women and children ready to do exploits for God’s kingdom. Her passion for children and the vulnerable cannot be easily forgotten”.
“She fought a good fight of faith and lived an exemplary life as a believer and pastor’s wife. We are saddened by her sudden departure, but submit to the will of the Almighty God who gives and takes.
“On behalf of my wife, Bisi, the government and good people of Ekiti State, I commiserate with Pastor Taiwo Odukoya over this irreparable loss and urge him to be consoled by the fact his wife lived an impactful life and has only gone to rest at the bosom of the Lord."
