The Director-General of the Ekiti State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mr. Olasunkanmi Onipede has warned private practitioners andp oliticians against illegal erection of billboards and posters across the State. He added that all signages without the approval of the agency should be removed immediately or the perpetrators would be made to face the wrath of the law.
Mr. Onipede who gave this warning in Ado-Ekiti while on an inspectiont our across the State to monitor compliance with the agency laws and regulations, expressed displeasure at the indiscriminate erection of billboards across the state without due permit from the Agency.
The Director General then made it known that the Agency will soon embark on aggressive enforcement against illegal erection of billboards and other outdoor displays in line with extant laws on signage in the state.
He also emphasised the commitment of the Agency to regular sensitization of politicians and the general public on the necessity of Agency's regulatory function to curb the incessantl ittering of the State with illegal billboards/ posters, to forestall the defacement of the beautiful architectural design of the state.
He then cautioned that there would be no sacred cow in the enforcement operation, as no political party is exempted from the law. He stressed that the Signage Agency cannot afford to fold its arms on it's statutory duties of regulation and generation of revenue on signages.
The Agency boss also stated that the Fayemi led administration would leave no stone unturned towards ensuring a modern Ekiti State. He, however solicited the continuous support of people in the State to ensure that this present administration fulfilled it's electioneering promise to the people.
