Tescom boss charges Teachers on maintenance of high standard in exams

Teachers have been charged to ensure the maintenance of high standard of performance and honesty in the exams (both internal and external) by Students.

The Teaching Service Commission Chairman Hon Babatunde Abegunde gave the charge during the monitoring exercise of the ongoing WAEC exams in some secondary schools at Gbonyin local government.

The Chairman explained that the purpose of the monitoring tour is to ensure orderliness and compliance with the rules slated for the exam by both teachers and students.

He advised that teachers and supervisors should ensure zero tolerance for exam malpractices.

The Schools visited include Aisegba Community Grammar School,Aisegba Comprehensive High School, Community Grammar School Iluomoba , Ijanmodu Comprehensive High School Ijan and Ujilogun High School Ilupeju-Ijan Ekiti.

Tescom Boss commended the high level of comportment of the students, the neat environment and Covid 19 measures compliance during the exams.

 In another development to cater for the surplus students who can't afford the fees of d newly acquired missionary schools in getting admission the Ekiti State Government has created four more new public secondary schools in addition to the five schools created last session to accommodate more students in enjoying the free education provided by the government.

The New Schools are St Thomas secondary school Irona Ado, St Michael's secondary School Mobil Ajilosun Ado, Baptist secondary school Ayetoro Ikere Ekiti and Deji Fasuan model college Afao Road Ado Ekiti.

The Chairman explained that the new schools were created in order to address the issue of the old schools being jam-packed by students noting that teachers have been evenly distributed round the new schools for the new session.
