The new General manager of Ekiti state Sports Council, Mr Kunle Adeyemi has been officially ushered in and and welcomed by all staff, athletes and management of the Council.
Adeyemi assumed office following the retirement of immediate past GM, Chief Ayodeji Samo.
The new General Manager says the foundation for attainment of new heights in the sports sector is now being laid.
He lauded the reception and cooperation accorded him by everyone since his assumption of office.
Mr Kunle Adeyemi noted that his return to the Sports Council was like home coming having served there before his redeployment to the ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
He thanked the commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Mike Awopetu, the permanent Secretary, Mr Ayo Ibikunle, Chairman, Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Youth and Sports,Hon.Joseph Olatunji and the Board members of the Ekiti State Sports Council headed by Hon. Mrs Olusola Osetoba for their moral support since he took the postiion.
The former Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Ministry of Youth and Sports who promised not to let down the confidence reposed in him by Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekii State said efforts were already being intensified towards attracting partnership with corporate bodies and individuals who have indicated willingness to complement government’s efforts in the area of sports development through the provision of affordable equipment for some sports in the state.
While lauding the efforts of the state government towards encouraging youth participation in sports by motivating outstanding sportsmen and women, Mr Adeyemi called on all stakeholders not to leave Sports Development in the hand of government alone as no government in the world could solely achieve 100% success in all spheres of life.
He urged everyone to keep praying for the state , the sports council and the state government to be able to actualize the desired goals and objectives in the Sports sector
