PRODUCTIVITY: JOURNALISTS DONATE EQUIPMENT TO MINISTRY

 

…celebrate Colleague on Public Service Award

The State Information Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ekiti State has donated ICT equipment to the State Ministry of Information.

The Union also celebrated Comrade Feyisina Rotimi who was among the recipients of the Head of Service award which was given in commemoration of the 2021 Public Service Day.

Receiving the equipment in Ado Ekiti at the July edition of the monthly congress of the chapel, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Femi Adedipe thanked the Union for donating the equipment; saying that the gesture would enhance the productivity of the newsroom where the equipment would be used.

Adedipe who disclosed plans by the Ministry to start an online radio commended the Union for coming up with an online news platform www.theinfoonlinenewsng.com.

He urged Information Officers to make themselves more relevant and indispensable in their duty; saying that professionalism and diligence would not go unrewarded.

The permanent Secretary, who promised to provide a MiFi and data to complement the laptop and printer donated by the Union,  commended Feyisina for being a good ambassador of the Ministry.

He urged other Information Officers to continue to do their best so that they too could receive such awards of recognition given to Feyisina.

Earlier, the NUJ Chairman in the Chapel, Comrade O’Seun Ogunsakin had congratulated the awardee for making the Union and the Ministry proud with his panache for professionalism and diligence.

Ogunsakin while speaking on the reason for donating the equipment said the Union took the step because of its belief that citizens should not always wait for the government to provide everything.

The chairman said the donation would complement government’s effort in ensuring that the Ministry lived up to expectations; adding that the Fayemi-led administration is living no stone unturned in providing conducive working environment for workers.

The chairman reiterated his administration would continue to work to reposition the Information Services Department to deliver on its mandate to publicize the activities of the government of the day.

Also speaking, the Director Information Services Department, Comrade Oyebode Oyetunde applauded the recipient of the award for his meritorious service to the State Government stressing that he was  happy that the award came during his time.

The awardee, Comrade Feyisina Rotimi appreciated God and thanked the Ministry for giving him the platform through which he achieved the success.
