Ekiti State Government has disclosed that the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination has commenced across the state, urging residents especially those that have not been vaccinated during the first phase of the exercise to do so immediately.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani made this known in Ado-Ekiti recently while featuring on a radio programme tagged "Ulere Ekiti " to sensitize the residents on the need to make themselves available for immunization against the deadly virus.
Dr. Filani explained that the Modena vaccines are for eligible residents that haven’t received any jab of Covid-19 vaccination, stressing that anyone who has received the first dose of Astra- Zeneca vaccines should wait for the second dose that would arrive soon.
The Commissioner, who allayed the fear of the people on the groundless rumor that the vaccine has negative effects, reiterated the commitment of the State Government to ensure that all residents have unfettered access to the safe and effective vaccines.
He advised residents of the state to take the advantage of government’s gesture and get vaccinated, stressing that getting immunized remains the most effective way to curtail the virus.
