HOW ADESOKAN, IJIDALE RESCUED ME - CLERGYMAN

By Abidemi Omoyajowo

Former Security aide to Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Israel Adesokan (Jaru) and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilization (South), Hon. Lekan Ijidale on Monday rescued a clergyman from a fire purportedly caused by his vehicle’s electric spark.

According to the clergyman who gave his name simply as Bishop Francis, the vehicle was usually emitting smoke while he was ascending the popular Akonansan hill along Ado-Iyin road and decided to drive the vehicle to a safe point where he could get help.

The clergyman added that it was unfortunate that the situation had taken another twist by the time he got to the front of a quarry owned by Adesokan and located along the route as the vehicle, Ford Explorer, had already caught fire.

Bishop Francis said it took the intervention of Adesokan and Ijidale who rushed to the vehicle and brought me out unscathed.

He said the rescuers had to use fire extinguishers from their vehicles to put out the fire until men of the State Fire Services who were contacted by Adesokan came to help out.

The clergyman thanked the men for coming to his rescue; saying that they were God-sent angels who did not allow the situation get out of hands.

In their reactions, Adesokan and Ijidale were happy that the situation was brought under control as no casualty was recorded.
