The Ekiti Ministry of Health and Human Services has congratulated all Ekiti Muslim faithfuls at home and in the Diaspora on the occasion of this year's Eld-El-Kabir celebrations.

In a statement made available to the newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani urged all Muslims to celebrate with caution by observing Covid 19 protocols.

"As we celebrate, it's necessary that we observe Covid -19 protocols as a way to curtail the spread of the virus especially now that  Delta Variant which is deadlier than the first one is spreading very fast.

The Health boss further urged Muslim brothers and sisters to pray for the end of Covid-19 pandemic which he noted has negatively affected means of livelihood of millions of people in Ekiti State, Nigeria and the world at large.

Dr Filani called on all Nigerians, especially Muslims to use this period to pray for peace, unity, stability and prosperity of Ekiti State and Nigeria, considering the insecurity challenges we face at the moment.

The Commissioner charged the people to imbibe the spirit of love, kindness and tolerance which he said were the core teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW)

"Eid-El- Kabir celebration is to honour the willingness of prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, Ismael, as an act of obedience to God's command. As God provided a lamb as an alternative for prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, God will in His Mercy proffer a total breakthrough from the deadly virus and other challenges. He prayed.
