We Never Denied Anybody Right To Erect Billboards, Ekiti Signage Boss states

The Director General of Ekiti State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mr Olasunkanmi Onipede has described as false and malignant the rumour making the rounds that the Agency had denied an organization the right to erect billboards after obtaining clearance from the Agency.

 

The Director General denied the rumour in a personally signed e-statement titled “Attempt To Blackmail The Ekiti State Signage And Advertisement Agency” which was obtained in Ado Ekiti on Monday by The Info Online News.

 

Onipede stated that the allegation was unfounded because the Agency did not “receive any application from such organisation for the clearance to erect billboards or signage adverts”; adding that any organization with such claims should come to the public domain with proofs to the contrary.

 

He stressed that the Agency has reputation for its unbiased application approval rate and service to all and sundry as evident in the “various array of political signages across the State”.

 

While describing the rumour as “a wicked attempt to paint the government in a bad image and cause confusion in the State”, the Director-General said it was unfortunate that some fifth columnists are attempting to disparage the good image of the government of Ekiti State at a critical period when all hands are supposed to be on deck for the development of the State.

 

“The Ekiti State Signage and Advertisement Agency do not owe this unfounded allegation any  response but for the unsuspecting members of the public and genuine partners of the Agency, it is important to put the records straight. At no point did the Agency receive any application from such organisation for the clearance to erect billboards or signage adverts. They may as well, come forward with proofs to the contrary.”

 

“Understandably, we are getting closer to the period of politicking but it is the height of wickedness to deliberately spread falsehood in an attempt to play negative politics or put the Dr Kayode Fayemi-Led administration in a bad light. The Agency urges partners of the Agency, friends of the State and the general public to discountenance this story as a complete piece of a lie from the darkest part of hell. Ekiti State Signage and Advertisement Agency is responsible and being administered in line with the ethos of public service and in line with this government's determination to restore our lost values”, Onipede stated.
