FUOYE Distances Self From Fake Recruitment Exercise

The Management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has distanced itself from an online advertisement for recruitment to fill academic and non academic vacancies in the institution; saying that the advertisement which has now gone viral on the social media is fake and clearly aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

The Management made its stance known in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media Matters to the Vice-Chancellor, Wole Balogun, stating that the said advertisement is not only fake but also the handiwork of fraudsters who want to tarnish the image of the varsity.

“We also wish to advise members of the public to always endeavour to contact directly the Institution and also put calls through the appropriate channels to confirm such information in the future before making attempt to assess them. In this age of social media boom, many fraudulent elements are devising several fraudulent means to defraud innocent members of the public.”

“FUOYE is currently not recruiting and whenever the need arises for the announcement of authentic recruitment exercise, it will be made known through several channels of communication which include the print and electronic media, not just only on the social media”, the statement reads.

He urged members of the public, especially the teeming youths seeking gainful employment to ignore the announcement currently making the rounds now on the social media.
